I been in Scouting for most of my life, I joined beaver scouts at six and have continued from there. I have been involved as a leader at Scout groups in Leeds and Windermere, these days my main focus is at SMESU. However I am also involved at Longcraig and Aldwark (scout kayaking centres) and on the Queen's Scout Working Party, help with some of Scouting national events, like the Windsor Parade.

I have been lucky enough to be involved on a number of international Scout trips, In 2000 I went out to Namibia for four weeks and helped at a big cat conservation centre, I have also been on expeditions to the Pyrenees and the Alps. I have also attended the World Scout Jamborees in Thailand (2003) and UK (2007). New year 2007 I joined a Network expedition to the Mafikeng Centrary Moot in South Africa. However my highlights have to be my SMESU trips, Summer 2006 , SMESU expedition to Malaysia and the 2007 SMESU trip to Kandersteg. I am currently working on the next SMESU expedition to Uganda in 2009.

OK, outside Scouting I also claim to have a life.......Professionally I have worked in the Outdoors, either instructing activities, facilitating corporate development training or primarily working with youth at risk and young offenders. Having taken a change of direction over the past couple of years, I am now work as a primary school teacher in Edinburgh.

Hmm, what else, I like Green Day, REM and the Kaiser Chiefs. I think that’s about it.

Cheers for now
