SMESU Council

SMESU believes in youth participation and encourages all the members to be involved in the management, structure, programme, planning and forward vision of the unit. In order to ensure that the Explorer Scouts have a direct input, the unit runs under a council structure.

The SMESU Council is made up of 9 Explorer Scouts and 4 Leaders, they are jointly responsible for the majority of the planning and running of the unit. These members serve for one year from Easter to Easter.

Each member of the council sits on one of three working groups. Through consultation with the other explorer scouts, they work on their remit, taking major decisions back to the full council meeting for ratification. The roles of the three working groups (Activities, Communication and Logistics) are outlined below.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for council, then please get in touch with the relevant Explorer Scouts through the contact directory in the members area.
