Young Leaders The Young Leaders' Scheme is one of the exciting programme elements we offer. Some SMESU Explorer Scouts choose to devote a proportion of their time in Scouting to service in another section (beavers, cubs or scouts). The Young Leaders Scheme helps Explorer Scouts to develop and grow as individuals. It allows them to make a valuable contribution to their community and give service to others. The scheme also helps them fulfill the service elements of their awards. Explorer Scouts become Young Leaders to:

Training All young leaders are provided with training through a modular scheme. They all recieve extensive support from the leadership teams and the Morningside & Blackford Young Leaders Unit. The Young Leader training modules can be downloaded below. Once you complete module A you can wear the young leaders badge.

Missions Once you have completed all the training modules, you can start on the four young leaders missions. They can be viewed by clicking here . You will recieve and extra badge for each one - this is sewn onto each side of the young leaders badge.
Once you have completed all your training and all four of the missions, you are then awarded with the young leader belt buckle.
